Creators Node uses SolidWorks to develop mechanical parts and assemblies for physical products. The starting point can be a sketch, dimensions, an existing model, or a specific design change. The objective is useful engineering geometry that supports the next stage of the project.
A model for an early fit check is not necessarily the same deliverable as a fully detailed assembly for handoff. We clarify how the files will be used, the required interfaces, the available reference information, and the expected export formats before work begins. Missing dimensions or uncertain features remain questions to resolve, not details to guess.

Can you create CAD from sketches or photos?
Sketches and photos are useful references, but reliable dimensions and interface information are still needed. We will identify missing measurements before treating the geometry as ready for fabrication.
Can you work from an existing STEP or IGES file?
Exchange files can be reviewed as starting geometry. The amount of reusable detail, editable design history, and additional modeling needed depends on the file and the requested change.
Which CAD formats can be included in the handoff?
The handoff can include agreed SolidWorks files and STEP or IGES exchange files. We confirm version compatibility, file requirements, and any drawing deliverables with the receiving team at the start.
Does a CAD model include manufacturing drawings?
Not automatically. A model defines geometry, while a manufacturing drawing communicates additional dimensions, tolerances, notes, and requirements. Drawing preparation can be included as a separate agreed deliverable.
